Salsa Central is a community website where we encourage you to contribute, either by posting news and events, or reviewing cd's and writing articles.
What you can do on Salsa Central....
- Post Content - News, reviews, articles, interviews, charts and playlists.
- Add events to the Calendar.
- Add pictures and create galleries in the main gallery area.
- Post on the Forum.
- Submit websites to the Links Directory.
- Create a profile.
- Enter Competitions.
and more.... all for FREE.
Details of how to use the website are below.
Registration
Your Profile
- Once registered, you can create and update your profile. Navigate to your profile and you will have the follwing options to the right of the screen;
- Update your profile - this will enable you to update the fields on your profile, such as your website, location, interests, etc
- Update your image - either upload an image or choose one from the library
- Remove Image
- Manage Your Connections - To create/accept/reject connections with other members profiles
- Private Messaging - All registered users have their own private messaging inbox, located towards the top right of the screen on most pages.
- Adding Videos to your profile - You can add up to ten Youtube videos to your profile. Each registered user has their own 'My Videos' tab on their profile. Instructions on how to add videos can be found on the tabbed screen.
- Profile Guestbook - All registered users have their own guestbook at the bottom of their profile, which allows other users to leave publicly viewable messages.
Adding Content
- Non-Registered Users
- News, Reviews, Articles, Events, etc - Use the 'Submit Content' button towards the top-right of the screen to submit any content. Once submitted, content will need to be approved by one of the team before being published to the website.
- Registered Users
- News, Reviews, Articles, Events, etc - Use the 'Submit Content' button towards the top-right of the screen to submit any content. Once submitted, content will need to be approved by one of the team before being published to the website. (Frequent users will have their account upgraded, so once logged in they can navigate to the relevant area of the site where they will have the option to add new content. This method will also offer more flexibility for formatting and adding images, and the ability to manage your own events in the calendar.)
- Gallery pictures - Registered users can create and maintain galleries,a nd upload images within the main gallery area.
- Comments - Registered users can comments on content items. This facility will be found at the bottom of each item.
- Adding Video
- Videos can be automatically uploaded to the video gallery using the upload tab. We currently only accept files in the flv format, but will soon be able to accept all popular formats, with any conversions and thumbnail creation being performed automatically on the server.

Top Banner (468 x 60px) = £20 per month
Visible on all pages, Rotates with 4 other banners
Homepage Footer Banner (468 x 60px) = £15 per month
Visible on homepage only, No rotation (always visible)
Right Column Banner (160px wide, and up to 240px tall) = £25 per month
Visible on homepage, news/reviews/interviews/articles pages, photo gallery, directory and a few others. No rotation (always visible on the relevant pages)
Newsletter We will generally mention any events and news in the newsletter for free, but if you would like a banner or tailored mailout, please contact us
If you would like to become part of our affiliate program and earn commission from hosting our banner on your website, please contact us.

Future Plans for Salsa Central
- Groups - full details coming soon, but this will enable the creation of groups between users, which will integrate fully with the events calandar and forum, and allow bulletins to be sent to all group members
- Advanced comments functions - Ability to sign up to threads and add pictures to your comments, amongst other features to be introduced. There will also be a 'latest comments' area on the home page.
- Improved forum - we will be introducing a more integrated forum that will fully integrate with the groups and member profile functions. there will also be a 'latest posts' area on the home page.
